Developmental Editing
What is a developmental edit? What does it cover?
A developmental edit stands back, looking at the bigger picture your manuscript paints, like story arcs and continuity, comprehension, plot holes, cliché, character development, pacing issues, etc. This, our specialty edit, usually manifests in numerous sidebar notes and often bonus inline edits as examples. It has been likened to "writing school."
This edit has never failed to improve a manuscript, often dramatically, if the edits are received and acted upon by the author. There are books up right now on Amazon, that Beyond Frontier edited, being praised for the very qualities this edit addresses.

Line Editing
What is a line edit? What does it cover?
A line edit is for manuscripts with refined stories and pacing. (Most manuscripts Beyond Frontier first encounters are not ready for this.) It's a labor intensive, granular look at structure, word usage, clarity, repetition, dialogue issues, point-of-view, etc. Some of these issues Beyond Frontier fixes, some require the author's hand. It's not a "proofread," and does not address content.
